SUPERVISION<\/h3>\n<p>TBP ensures that adequate supervision services are available to people who are released from custody by the courts. Supervision involves a schedule of regular reporting, the review of release conditions, weekly reminders of court dates, assistance with general navigation through the pretrial process and referrals to support systems and resources to address concerns such as addictions, mental health, cognitive and developmental impairment etc.<\/p>\n<p>Bail supervision is offered when the accused person consents to having all potential sureties contacted and an appropriate surety is not available, and after considering the risk of flight and recidivism based on the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the verified information outlined below;<\/li>\n<li>a pattern of previous failures to appear and failures to comply;<\/li>\n<li>previous response to community sanctions;<\/li>\n<li>ability to comprehend legal obligations and expectations;<\/li>\n<li>willingness and ability to comply with suggested conditions of release;<\/li>\n<li>conditions necessary for effective supervision.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>B. ELIGIBILITY<\/h3>\n<p>The fundamental issue for TBP is to decide whether a detainee is likely to comply with release conditions imposed by the court, which include regular reporting to TBP and to attend further court proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>Accused with psychiatric and\/ or drug related issues, create special considerations for TBP and must be prepared to accept release conditions which may also include treatment modalities.<\/p>\n<p>Services are offered at the Ontario Court of Justice Toronto, the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, Oshawa Courthouse and Newmarket Courthouse.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=&#8221;1&#8243;
